In a constantly changing environment, we summarise the most important updates for General Practitioners.
This week’s summary includes updates from:
- The Department of Health
- 3GA Programs
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH-
Total Coronavirus Cases –
There have been a total of 31,516 cases in Australia. There have been 247 new locally acquired cases and 13 overseas acquired cases in the last 24 hours, with 2857 current active cases.
Vaccine Operations Update –
In a significant milestone for Australia’s vaccine rollout, last week we surpassed 10 million vaccine doses administered across the country. This included the last million doses delivered in only 8 days.
Last week had the highest daily increase in doses administered on 15 July, at 175,002 recorded doses—close to 10,000 more than the previous record. This was also a new record day for doses in primary care, at 99,412, which takes primary care vaccinations past 5 million doses. It also reflects the participation now of more than 1000 General Practices in administering Pfizer, with more to join this month.
AMC Tests Cancelled –
Due to the current and ever-changing Covid-19 restrictions throughout Australia, the AMC has decided to cancel the in-person clinical examination dates scheduled at the AMC National Test Centre on the 17th and 18th and 19th of August 2021.
The AMC will endeavor to provide as much notice as practical to participants and reschedule examinations to online events or future in-person examination dates.
Candidates scheduled in the cancelled examination dates of the 17th and 18th and 19th of August, will be offered alternate examination dates.
