If I am privately billing, will my experience count towards Fellowship?

Here at People Medical Consulting we like spreading what we know and giving you a clear pathway to your career. We’re answering a different question each week based on queries raised via our Facebook & Instagram profiles.
THIS WEEK’S QUESTION…?
If I am privately billing, will my experience count towards Fellowship?
If you’re billing privately, that is not accessing Medicare benefits (perhaps due to not meeting 19AA or 19AB), your experience will still be considered 100% towards your Fellowship.
Each college has its own definition of what General Practice is when they assess your experience and providing the work you’re doing falls into this definition then it will contribute fully to your time to Fellowship.
The colleges do not check if you have access to Medicare- it is irrelevant to their assessment process.
