If I’m on RLRP or SAPP which has closed, how will this affect me?

Here at People Medical Consulting we like spreading what we know and giving you a clear pathway to your career. We’re answering a different question each week based on queries raised via our Facebook & Instagram profiles.
The Short Answer
It won’t.
RLRP closed as of the 31 May 2019 for new applicants and existing applicants can still apply for new locations and have access for the length of the placement. SAPP closed for new entrants, but current participants can continue their placement until their nominated end date. Once your placement has ended, you’ll need to apply for one of the other programs.
What other programs are there?
The remaining programs will include:
- Australian General Practice Training (AGPT)
- After Hours Medical Deputising (AMDS)
- Fellowship Support Program (FSP)
- ACRRM Independent Pathway (IP)
- More Doctors for Rural Australia (MDRAP)
- Remote Vocational Training Scheme (RVTS)
- Rural Generalist Training Scheme (RGTS)
- More Doctors for Rural Australia (MDRAP)
Each has their own eligibility criteria. For more information on the 3GA programs, take a look here: https://www.peoplemedical.com.au/19aa-3ga-programs-update/
