PEP – Specialist Stream

PEP – Specialist Stream

This pathway is the only available pathway for General Practitioners being assessed by RACGP to enter the Specialist Pathway and become a FRACGP Doctor in Australia.

A comparability assessment will be completed, awarding you either substantially or partially comparable.  You can also be awarded not comparable, at which case you’ll need to apply through Competent Authority or Standard Pathway.

Substantially comparable applications will complete a Work Based Assessment (WBA) in the first 6 months, achieving FRACGP in a maximum time of 12 months full time.

Partially comparable applications will complete a WBA in the first 6 months, achieving FRACGP in a maximum time of 24 months full time. Doctors will be required to complete the RACGP Fellowship exams before being awarded FRACGP.

Doctors will work under Limited or Provisional AHPRA Registration (depending on whether you also qualify for the Competent Authority Pathway) and will require a supervisor until Fellowship is granted.
