What can I expect to be offered financially in General Practice…?

A lot of doctors ask us how much they can expect to be offered during an interview. Well, it entirely depends on your qualifications as well as, to a lesser extent, the area you are working in. 

If you are a VR Doctor, the standard offer is between $120 – $150 per hour or 65% – 70% of billings. 

As a Non VR Doctor without Australian GP Experience the standard offer is $90 – $120/hour initial guarantee or 60% – 65% of billings. 

If you are a Non VR Doctor requiring Supervision, the standard offer is $2000 per week guaranteed, or 50% – 60% of billings. 

These amounts are what we see as an industry average, however many clinics have their own internal structures and are often open to negotiation.
