If I take a career break, or return overseas for a period of time, does this affect my moratorium?
This is a FAQ BLOG and you can refer to our 19AB & IMGs blog here.

No! Your moratorium starts on the date of your first registration in Australia with AHPRA, and will end 10 years after this date (providing the Doctor has achieved Permanent Residency or Citizenship). This can be reduced by working in a more rural area.
The 19AB requirement to work in a DPA location for a period of 10 years (the Moratorium) does not ‘pause’, ‘stop’ or ‘reset’ if the Doctor stops working or does not remain in Australia.
