What do I do if AHPRA want to remove my registration as I'm still Limited?

Here at People Medical Consulting we like spreading what we know and giving you a clear pathway to your career. We’re answering a different question each week based on queries raised via our Facebook & Instagram profiles.

THIS WEEK’S QUESTION…?

What do I do if AHPRA want to remove my registration as I’m still Limited?

AHPRA gives GPs a limited 3 renewals to achieve either General or Specialist AHPRA Registration. If a GP cannot pass their AMC Clinical or their Fellowship exams within this period, AHPRA will remove their registration.

Without registration, a GP is not eligible to sit Fellowship. However, you will be able to sit your AMC Clinical.

It is important to take this into consideration when planning your career in Australia.

If you reach the 3 renewals without having achieved General or Specialist AHPRA, you have limited options. You will need to sit for your AMC Clinical and pass, or be successful in your application for a Work Based Assessment position in the hospital.

How Can We Help?

Our team help General Practitioners both with finding jobs and helping with the full applications process including finding the best pathway to fellowship for you and your life goals. If we can help, please contact us at admin@peoplemedical.com.au.
