Why do agencies ask for so much information when taking down a vacancy?
When you decide to move forward with working with a recruitment agency, they tend to ask A LOT of questions- we’re taking the opportunity to explain why.
Reason 1- to find you the right Doctor.
Some Practices are looking for anyone with a medical degree to come on it and help with patient demand but most want/need something specific depending on the local demographic (type of patient) and their expectations and needs. For example, if your demographic is primarily older patients and aged care facilities then having a GP come in who specialises in Paeds would not work particularly well!
Reason 2- To qualify the Doctor before you take the time to interview them.
Doctors, like Practices, have an idea on what they want when they’re looking for a new job. Rather than have you be disappointed when you’ve taken an hour to interview them only to have them decide not to move forward because they’re expected to do one weekend a month, we can ensure you’re only getting applications from Doctors who are aware of the Practice’s patient demographics, income potential, hours and team set up, and are fully informed before they take your time at interview.
Reason 3- It gives us the opportunity to update you on the market.
The market changes- rapidly. It’s currently standard practice to offer a minimum of 70% of billings to a VR in a bulk billing practice. However; our Consultants still come across Practices offering 55% and being confused by their lack of applicants. Getting to know the ins and outs of your clinic means we can update you on what the rest of the industry is doing to attract Doctors and from there it is your decision what you choose to advertise.
Finally- knowing your practice gives us something to sell. We receive a lot of enquiries about your vacancy from our job ads which we publish online. When we have a lot of information about your practice, we can make sure we are creating the most attractive job ad attracting new candidates to supply for your vacancy.
