What is the Workforce Incentive Program?

The Workforce Incentive Program (WIP) provides financial incentives for health professionals and general practices. It is also an initiative funded by the Australian Government with the goal of strengthening the access to medical services in rural and remote areas of Australia and supporting general practices.

What are the incentive streams?

There are 3 Workforce Incentive Program (WIP) streams, specifically:

WIP – Practice Stream, which offers financial incentives to practices and help them with the cost of employing health professionals. Read more about it here.

WIP – Doctor Stream, which gives financial incentives to medical practitioners working in MM3-7 locations. Read more about it here.

WIP – Rural Advanced Skills Stream, which provides financial incentives to doctors to give both primary care and emergency and/or advanced skills in MM3-7 locations. Read more about it here.
