Each state has its own Rural Workforce Agency (RWA) that handles PFP applications, so there’s a different process for each one. Check below to find out which RWA you need to contact or apply to.

NSW: NSW Rural Doctors Network

  • Email medirec@nswrdn.com.au with your interest and one of the Workforce Consultants will assist you for the PFP application. They will ask for the practice you plan to apply for and your updated CV to make sure you are eligible for the program.
  • Once you are deemed eligible, you will be invited through your email to fill up the application form, as well as your supervisor.

VIC: Rural Workforce Agency Victoria

  • Email the GP Program’s team at GPprograms@rwav.com.au with the following:
    • an expression of interest (EOI) to apply for the PFP,
    • your full name, and
    • your current AHPRA registration number

QLD: Health Workforce Queensland

  • Click ‘Apply now’ in their PFP page and fill up the form here which will require you to create or sign in to your Health Workforce Queensland account.

WA: Rural Health West

  • Email the Rural Health West team at PFP@ruralhw.com.au for PFP opportunities in rural or remote Western Australia and you can see more details in their PFP page here.

SA: Rural Doctors Workforce Agency

  • See if you’re eligible for the program with their PFP Checklist and complete the necessary documents like CV/Resume, Identity documents, Residency/Citizenship, and more.
  • Once completed, fill up the form to request an Application Form here or email askPFP@ruraldoc.com.au for the application form.
  • It will take around 28 business days for the RWA to process your application and update you of the outcome once you have submitted the completed application form.
