I’m a Clinic- what Doctors can I get in my practice?
Location plays a key part in determining the type of doctors that you can hire for your practice.
DPA / MMM 1
At these locations, you can hire –
- VR Doctors
- Non VR Doctors who are on a Visa
There is no need for a Health Workforce Certificate since September 2023 so you can offer sponsorship for GPs that have a temporary resident visa.
Non VR GPs should be aware that they cannot pursue Fellowship in a MMM 1 location unless they are on a spousal exemption participating on AGPT.
DPA / MMM 2 – 7
At these locations, you can hire –
- All Doctors
Non DPA / MMM 1
At these locations, you can hire:
- Unrestricted Doctors
- VR Doctors who have 19AB Exemptions
Non DPA / MMM 2 – 7
At these locations, you can only hire:
- Unrestricted Doctors
- VR Doctors who have 19AB Exemptions
- Non VR Doctors who are unrestricted by 19AB (they cannot work under MDRAP)
