Need help understanding your pathway?

If you are an IMG who is ready to move supervision levels (i.e. from Level 1 to Level 2, or Level 2 to Level 3), you will need to submit some more documents to AHPRA, specifically:

  • ACCL-30 (Application for a change in circumstances)
  • WRIG-30 (Work Performance Report)
  • SPPA-30 (Supervision Plan)

The ACCL-30 Form is an application for a change in circumstances. You’ll need to explain why the change is necessary and have your principal supervisor support your request.

You will also need to prepare a WRIG-30 which is a Work Performance Report. These should be prepared after 3 months of initial registration, at renewal of registration, or whenever AHPRA requests it.

Don’t forget to update your Supervision Plan (SPPA-30) to reflect your change in supervision levels.

When can I change my supervision level?

The Board may change your supervision level at any time during the period of your Limited or Provisional Registration.

After the first 3 months of registration, the Board will review the work performance report and may decide to change your supervision level or not.

In the same way, you may request a change of supervision level at any time during your supervised practice period.

You may also apply for a change in supervision level even if you have yet to complete the required period under Level 1 supervision.

You can also change your supervision level based on these two factors; first, submit a performance assessment report and complete a new PESCI OR complete AMC Clinical. Then, this can be done if you are able to present the following requirements to AHPRA:

  • WRIG-30 Performance assessment report AND completion of new PESCI
    • Your performance assessment report must clearly indicate your supervisor’s recommendation to change your supervision from Level 1 to Level 2. You must also include your strengths and achievement of learning outcomes.
    • Completion of a new PESCI which is intended for a GP applying for Level 2.  PESCI is an objective assessment of your knowledge, skills, clinical experience and attributes to determine if you are suitable to practice in a specific position, or in this case, if you are ready for Level 2. Read more about PESCI here.

OR

  • Completion of AMC Clinical
    • The AMC Clinical exam assesses a GP’s clinical skills in medical, surgical, women’s health, paediatrics, and mental health in both hospital and community settings. It also assesses your ability to communicate with patients, their families and other health workers. Completion of AMC Clinical is one of the major milestones a GP manifests progress in his/her medical career.
