What is WBA?

The Workplace based assessment (WBA) is an evaluation for a doctor’s performance in everyday clinical practice, and it is another option for accomplishing the clinical component of your assessment rather than taking the AMC Clinical Examination.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible, you must have:

Passed the AMC MCQ exam
Limited AHPRA Registration with the Medical Board of Australia
An appointed position at a practice or hospital for the whole program

How can I apply?

To apply for a workplace based assessment program, here is a visual summary:

Step 1: Contact the accredited WBA provider, and express your interest.
- You can see the list of the approved providers of WBA which are mainly hospitals listed here.

Step 2: WBA provider will nominate you for the program through the AMC WBA portal, and WBA team will check if you qualify.
- Note: You cannot take WBA if you are enrolled in an AMC Clinical exam.

Step 3: You will receive an email about a placement if you’re qualified. You can accept the offer and pay for the necessary fees or decline.
- Note: If you’ll accept a WBA program placement, you’ll need to withdraw from the clinical exam.
