Will the New DPAs Reflect on the Health Workforce Locator Map?

This is a FAQ BLOG and you can refer to our 19AB & IMGs | DWS / DPA | 10 Year Moratorium | 19AB Exemptions blog here.

MMM 2 – 7 locations

All MMM 2 – 7 locations are now a DPA and this is reflected on the Health Workforce Locator Map.

Exceptional Applications for DPA

Equally, we started seeing the results of the special applications Practices in conjunction with the Health Workforce teams have been submitting for ‘Exceptional Circumstances DPA’.

This is where MMM 1 and 2 practices have been requesting the Health Workforce Teams petition on their behalf and the behalf of their local area for DPA. These results will NOT be reflected on the map, but will be reflected in the list located here: https://www.health.gov.au/resources/apps-and-tools/health-workforce-locator

The Department of Health has assured our team that Medicare will be checking this list when assessing applications. You can include a screenshot of the list with your application just to be sure!

For exceptional circumstances, you can also request a review if considerations for access to GP services are affected. However, keep in mind that you have to be in a MMM 1 outer-metropolitan location and reach out to your local Rural Workforce Agency (RWA). You can read more about how to request a review here.
