The Fellowship programs that will lead you to achieving ACRRM Fellowship are the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT), Independent Pathway (IP), and the Remote Vocational Training Scheme (RVTS). Please note RVTS is managed by RVTS, while AGPT and IP are managed by ACRRM.
Once you have gone through the application process for a Fellowship program, you will be onboarded and you will then need to complete the training and education requirements before you can sit the ACRRM Fellowship exams or finish the assessment requirements.
What are the training requirements?
You will need to finish 3 years of Core Generalist Training (CGT) and 1-2 years of your chosen Advanced Specialised Training (AST).

- Anaesthetics
- Emergency Medicine
- Mental Health
- Obstetrics and Gynaecology

What are the ACRRM Fellowship exams (a.k.a. assessment requirements)?
ACRRM has fellowship exams which are both clinic based and theoretical. Generally, assessments are offered twice each year although there are exceptions to this. The exams that you will undertake are:
- Mini Clinical Evaluation Exercise (miniCEX)
- A workplace based assessment used to evaluate your direct contact with patients.
- Multiple-Source Feedback (MSF)
- Feedback from patients and colleagues to assess your interpersonal and professional behaviour, development, and clinical skills.
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
- An exam to test your applied knowledge, recall and reasoning across all areas of rural and remote practice.
- Case Based Discussion (CBD)
- An assessment of your clinical reasoning and application of knowledge using your clinical cases in your own clinical context.
- An assessment of your clinical reasoning and application of knowledge using your clinical cases in your own clinical context.
- Structured Assessment using Multiple Patient Scenarios (StAMPS)
- An assessment that focused on rural and remote practice.
You’ll also need to submit logbooks, projects, and supervisor reports. Once you have successfully completed the program and the necessary requirements, you will be able to achieve Fellowship with ACRRM.
